#9 Art Project

For this project, I started with finding a famous painting that I could incorporate my face into. I had to choose a picture of myself where my face was turned at the same angle the woman in the paintings is for the best results. First, I added the photo of myself into the already existent file of the famous painting, then I traced my face with the pen tool in order to remove it from the original background and onto the woman's face. After my face was adjusted properly, I adjusted the hue ad saturation of my skin tone to best match hers. I also used the burn and dodge tools to create illusions of lightness and darkness (shadows) on my face where they appeared most fitting. A bunch of minor adjustments were made in order to create the illusion that it's me in the painting and not the original woman.

#8 Somewhere

To create this photo, I chose a picture I had taken from home as well as a full-body portrait of myself and combined them together to make it look as though I was standing on top of the mountain. After adding the photo of myself into the background image, I used the magic wand tool to trace the outline of my body, however, you can also use the pen tool for more accuracy. Next, I used the eraser tool to remove any bits that made it stick out and look unrealistic. The burning tool was also used to darken up the edges and create a shadow on my face since there is a ray of sun going over me. I used the dodge tool to brighten the top of my face since that's where the sun is hitting it. To create the shadow in front of me, I copied the entire cutout of my body, changed it to all black, skewed and distorted it to make it go in front of me below my feet, and then used the eraser tool to make it less harsh.

#7 Autoscopy

For this project we had to select images from the internet or ones that we had previously taken that were of a high resolution. Each individual photo had to be uploaded into AdobePhotoshop to be edited. For some of the edits I adjusted the hue and vibrancy, blurred them, made them looking like oil paintings, changed them to black and white, and switched up the levels of saturation as well as adding filters. The goal of this project was to make them look drastically different and sometimes a bit unrealistic. After all ten photos were edited, they were merged together into one file on Adobe Acrobat.

#5 Gradient

For this project I had to find an image of a fruit on the internet and then move it into Illustrator. The first thing I did was trace the outline of the image, and then I had to create a gradient mesh in order to recreate the gradient of the fruit. The highlights and shadows of the fruit were copied by outlining the area and then pasting it onto the new lemon. To get the exact colors of the highlights and shadows I used the eyedropper tool to select the original color of it and transfer it to the new lemon. Lastly, the texture was added and changed color accordingly to replicate the pores of the lemon and give it another dimension.
